A portable version of Minecraft for Android
Minecraft Pocket Edition is a sandbox video game that takes place in a procedurally generated world where players have to explore, gather resources, hunt, craft items and combat. Developed by Mojang and published by Microsoft, it is a major mobile game release on Android, iOS and Windows 10 devices. Windows 10 devices come with a slightly separate title as they work on desktops too, whereas those for iOS And Android are called the “Pocket Edition”. Minecraft - Pocket Edition for Android devices are available for download on Appdodo.com.
What sets Minecraft apart from most games is that all objects in the game world are represented with cubes that are arranged in grids. This is similar to retro 8-bit games that were heavily pixelated. Minecraft just makes those square pixels into 3D cubes.
Minecraft Pocket Edition does not set any goals for the players from the beginning. The core gameplay includes moving the cubes around to navigate or create items in the procedurally generated world. Players also come across other NPCs that may or may not be hostile.
Minecraft comes with different game modes. There’s a survival mode where you need to combat monsters and use resources wisely to survive. A hardcore mode is a variant of the survival mode on the hardest difficulty, which is now deprecated. A creative mode allows access to all resources and allows the player to craft items of construct buildings. There is also an adventure mode and spectator mode.
Minecraft Pocket Edition heavily relies on touch controls, but separate controllers can also be used. Depending on the device, on screen controls may or may not be customizable. The game runs well on tablets too.
